Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the level of knowledge and coping behavior towards particulate matter(PM) for mothers who raise their children, to confirm their correlations and influencing factors on coping behavior.
Methods: Data were collected from 170 mothers who were raising children aged 0 to 12 years using two online groups in Seoul Korea from November 4 to 20, 2019. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Multiple regression.

Results: The score on knowledge was 0.62¡¾0.19, and 3.77¡¾0.64 on coping behavior towards PM. The degree of knowledge towards PM was significantly different according to the mother¡¯s job status(t=-2.05, p=.042) and the number of children(t=-3.52, p=.001), and the degree of coping behavior towards PM was significantly different according to the number of children(t=-2.14, p=.034). Participants¡¯ knowledge and coping behavior towards PM showed a significant positive correlation(r=.47, p=.000). The main factor observed influencing the coping behavior towards PM was knowledge towards PM(¥â=0.42, p=.000), while the explanatory power of the model was 21%.

Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an educational program that includes the knowledge and coping behavior towards PM based on scientific principles for mothers raising their children.
